Snowy Letters

When pushing the door to my car open the air hit me like a thousand knives. The altitude does make a difference; I forget that sometimes. Instead of rain we were met with snow. It softly fell upon us. Two souls in search of shelter the cover of darkness gave us, seemingly alone in those wet and rattling forests.

One never knows where life takes us. It’s better that we don’t spoil the ending and just be here now. I was never one to say goodbye before greeting someone new, and I’ve realized that I have always been open, this entire time, to this journey. I may not have anticipated being up here, on this tall peak as the brooks rush down from the top watering the ground around me.

I guess I’ll have to keep moving forward, and upward, towards the next view. One that will show me the next direction I need to go. I love the way this life hands me the ups and downs. I am reminded every time I’m high on the ascent.
