Dark Forests

Small pattering rain drops hit the single paned window as the whooshing noise from the trees outside reverberate and shake this old house.

I’ll have to walk two blocks to my car soon, and as always it’s me and the elements.

There’s snow on the mountain tops, if you drive up the winding narrow roads you can even sit by a wooden fence and relish in it. Winter, a preview.

Nature warns me that I’d better figure out how to warm myself in the coming months. Just like it warns me that I’d better insulate myself from the fall that may come when moving forward with this unexpected path.

The one that brings me through dark territories in the wilderness with nothing but my own light.

I don’t care for starting over, nor do I look forward to the outcome of what may be. But I have to experience it anyways. I need to live this life for whatever it’s worth.
