Broken

“Beauty in Brokenness” that is how Amazon chose to describe my book. I found that a bit dramatic. I have never viewed myself as “broken” nor do I wish to be seen as a victim.

What the public sees in my writings are my thoughts, experiences, and views. What they see isn’t someone broken, but someone rebuilding themselves.

One of my best friends got me to church a couple times this summer, the pastor there is more like a slam poet. Lyrically, he talks of how God will hold pressure on you, but never fully break you.

I think of this, while under the pressure of all these changes as I push forward towards my truth. I am not broken, I am standing, walking, running down the path that’s been laid ahead of me.

Don’t mind the bruises on my legs, or the scars on my back, I can’t feel them, nor does it change how I move through life.
